Hello,

James Russell, Chief Executive Officer

Once a family business, then part of a corporate health chain, Palm Drive Hospital is remaking itself as a community-owned, state-of-the-art health care facility that offers the latest and best medical and surgical care to residents of western Sonoma County.

We are expanding and redefining our services to our community - the more than 60,000 people who live in the small towns and villages, and on farms and ranches, in a 600-square-mile area stretching from Sebastopol to Bodega Bay.

We have added telemedicine capacity to our 24-hour emergency services, using a wireless, mobile robot that allows local physicians in the emergency department and Intensive Care Unit to immediately access specialists throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

We have opened the Palm Drive Medical Center, which offers a range of health services for those seeking a primary care doctor and a medical home. We now receive emergency patients by helicopter on our new, environmentally friendly, surface-permeable helipad adjacent to the Hospital.

I'm especially proud of our state-of-the-art orthopedic table, the only one of its kind in Sonoma County. It permits minimally invasive surgery with smaller incisions and dramatically speeds recovery time for patients. We've also brought in new diagnostic capability and the latest in medical technology, and refurbished and modernized our operating rooms, hospital rooms, waiting rooms and lobbies.

And that's just the beginning. In the coming months, we expect to announce a series of new programs, including one tailored to the needs of our senior citizens. We are also in the midst of a series of negotiated partnerships that could make our Hospital a center for robotic telemedicine in Northern California and nationwide.
